This year 2017, Easter festivities are celebrated almost at the same date throughout the Old Continent, by Catholics, Orthodox, Jewish populations as well as a Spring Arrival.
On the sport side, hundreds of marathons, half marathons or just runs are organised in many countries at that time of the year.
In Italy, the 19th Roma Appia Run was organised last Sunday 6 April, the Palm Sunday, by the Italian Athletic ACSI under the patronage of CONI, the Ministry of Health, the City of Rome and regional authorities.
Around 6,000 competitors, divided in two groups for a13 km and a 4km distance, run one of the most popular routes from the runner lovers, from Caracalla Baths to Ancient Appian Road.
Of these, 4406 have well crossed the line of 13 km, establishing a record number of athletes finishing the run; over 1000 came the arrival of 4 km.
