Teen Ellie, described as among the brightest rising stars in British snowboarding, too early passed away on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 on occasion of her 18th birthday in France.

The young athlete won a bronze medal – Team GB’s only medal – at the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Erzurum, Turkey last year, and carried also the British flag at the Closing Ceremony. She was considered one of Team GB’s great hopes for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and this month was named in the senior GB squad for the snowboard cross Europa Cup circuit.

On behalf of the Olympic Movement of Europe, the EOC expresses its deepest condolences and sympathy to the British Olympic Association (BOA) and Ellie’s family.
