Invited by Ukraine NOC President Sergey Bubka, Janez Kocijančič yesterday started a two-day visit to the National Olympic Committee in Kiev.

Accompanied by President Bubka, the two sports leaders had a meeting with to the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Ihor Zhdanov, after which he visited the NOC headquarters, where Kocijančič met staff from different departments, including famous Ukrainian athletes who work there, and where he received information about NOC’s plans and projects that are being promoted in the country, praising the high level of organization.

On Friday Kocijančič paid a visit to the Olympic Studies’ Centre, the headquarters of the Ukraine’s Olympic Academy, headed by Maria Bulatova, a good friend of the European Olympic Committee, and author of the first educational EOC Guidebook, which is distributed to all EYOF participants.

In the evening, EOC acting President will attend the “Heroes of the Sports Year-2016” Ceremony, at NSC “Olimpiysky” in Kiev, where country’s best Olympic, Paralympic and non-Olympic athletes and coaches will receive their awards.
