EOC President Janez Kocijančič met with European Volleyball Federation (CEV) President Aleksandar Boričić in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 3 September 2019.

Discussions focused on the long-term collaboration between the two organisations and on a strategic plan to include volleyball in all EOC flagship events.  

In attendance from the EOC was also Croatian Zlatko Mateša, Member of the Executive Committee.

Both parties showed their willingness to see the team sport as part of future European Games, European Youth Olympic Festivals (EYOF) and also Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE).

Volleyball is a core sport of the EYOF, being part of its sport programme since the first edition in Brussels in 1991.
