Bratislava, October 19, 2015 – “Athletes are the heart of sport, like Bratislava is at the heart of Europe” recalled Frantisek Chmelar, the president of the Slovak NOC in his address to the opening ceremony of the 8th European Athletes Forum that his NOC organized on Saturday with great success.
EOC Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi attended the Forum, which was conducted by Jean Michel Saive, the table tennis Belgian champion who chairs the European Athletes Commission.
Seven important reports on topical issues as behavior at the Olympics, social networks activity, Wada and Olympic Solidarity programmes, European Games, dual career and EU’s sport projects were presented by first class speakers, such as Spyros Capralos, Chair EOC/EG Baku 2015 CoCom, Member EOC Executive Committee, Olympic Solidarity representative. WADA Europe Director Frederic Donzé, EOC EU Office Director Folker Hellmund.
Athletes appreciated their lively reports from their pairs in the IOC Athletes Commission Danka Barteková and Tony Estanguet. Athletes representatives in the EOC commissions also reported to the Forum.
After a full day of interactive meeting, EOC Secretary Pagnozzi and Jean Michel Saive and all participants shared positive impression on the Bratislava Forum.
