EOC – EYOF COMMISSION CARRIES ON ITS MISSION

Categories: Misc.

2 February 2018

The mandate of the EOC EYOF Commission has been extended to mid-May, when the commissions for the new quadrennial will all be appointed. This well-run committee, chaired by Victor Sanchez (ESP), and composed of representatives from 13 European NOCs, will thus be able to continue its job with the usual professionalism and expertise and in full cooperation with the EYOF manager, Katerina Nycova (SVK).

The EOC Executive Committee took the decision at its meeting in Lausanne last 18 January as, because of their nature, the tasks of this commission cannot be suspended. The EYOF Commission is indeed in charge of monitoring preparations for the EYOF (European Youth Olympic Festival), the biennial multi-sport event for young athletes from the 50 member countries of the association of the European Olympic Committees, and it is thus very important for it not to interrupt its activity, particularly with the upcoming 2019 EYOFs.

The EYOF 14th winter edition of Sarajevo and East Sarajevo (BIH) will begin on the 11 February 2019 and will be followed by the summer edition in Baku (AZE).

Regarding the next edition in Sarajevo, the EYOF committee is now working to send to all the NOCs of Europe the first leaflet containing useful information about the event.
