Tirana, 31st October invited by NOC president Ela Tase and the NOC’s executive board, Mario Pescante went to Albania to receive the Medal of Gratitude, awarded him by the President of the Republic of Albania for his contribution to the development of the Albanian Olympic Movement and its activities.

The award took place at a warm and friendly ceremony in the presence of the Minister for Sports Mr. Aldo Bumci, the Italian Ambassador to Albania, the members of the board of the NOC of Albania, and representatives from sports federations.

During his 2 day visit to Albania, in his capacity as President of the Italian Parliament’s European Union Commission, Pescante met the State’s leaders, including the President of the Republic, Mr. Nishami Bujar, and the Prime Minister, Mr. Sali Berisha.
