EOC – MARKETING & COMMUNICATION COMMISSION MEETING IN ROMANIA

The recently elected Marketing and Communication Commission gathered in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on 14 July 2018.

The Members were warmly welcomed by President of the Rumanian NOC Mihai Claudiu Covallu, who is the Chair of the Commission, and  in the beautiful framework of Cluj-Napoca, one of the biggest cities in Romania’s Transylvania region. The “cultural capital” of the historical province of Transylvania is one of the 22 cities awarded the “2018 European City of Sport” – a title acknowledged by ACES Europe, a non-profit association based in Brussels that assigns every year the recognitions of European Capital, City, Community and Town of Sport.

After a first introduction and acquaintance of the Commission members, the discussions were opened by the Chair Mihai Claudiu Covallu, who briefly outlined the main purposes and goals of his working group.

The Commission will closely work together with the EOC Marketing & Communication Agencies – Altius, Octagon and Mitchell Communication Agency (MCA). The cooperation between the parties will be better implemented thanks to the appointment of EOC Executive Committee Liaison Member Bill Sweeney.

During the discussions, proposals and ideas were put forward by all Members, with a special focus on the best promotion of Europe’s premier multi-sport event and the continued collaboration with Minsk European Games Organising Committee (MEGOC).
