EOC OLYMPIC CULTURE & LEGACY COMMISSION MEETS IN FINLAND

Helsinki, January 13, 2016 – The EOC Olympic Culture and Legacy Commission gathered yesterday in the Finnish capital for their annual meeting, invited by chair Susanna Rahkamo, who is also the Finnish NOC’s Vice President.
Welcomed by NOC International Relations Director Hilkka Laitinen, members Ömür Dugan (TUR), Georgios Korellis (CYP), Flemming Knudsen (DEN), Athletes representative Mads Kruse Andersen (DEN) and EOC EC representative Marc Theisen reached Helsinki on Monday, in time to come together for their meeting yesterday at the Finnish Sports House, later also visiting the Finnish Olympic Committee and Finnish Sports Confederation offices.
Secretary General Teemu Japisson and Communication Director Jyrki Kemppainen came to visit the meeting.
After a very dynamic day of consultations, in the evening the commission members joined the annual Finnish Sports Gala festivities at Hartwall Areena. The Gala, which gathered some 1600 dinner guests and was broadcast live on Finnish television, celebrated Finnish sport and athletes.
