The European Olympic Committees (EOC) is delighted to be partnering with the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee (NOC), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) for the 4th Digital Communication and Social Media Seminar from 2-4 October.
Held in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Seminar once again brings together NOCs from across Europe, Asia and Africa to foster collaboration and conversations over the latest digital developments and to look back at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
In addition to presentations from the EOC on how it can work closely with NOCs and potential technical innovations at the European Games Istanbul 2027, the IOC will highlight how the Olympic AI Agenda will support NOCs moving forward and ANOC will share the success of their photo and video programmes during Paris 2024.
Several representatives from NOCs will also present during the three days, where breakout groups and question and answer sessions will form the basis of continued discussions to encourage participation and sharing of ideas.
EOC President Spyros Capralos said: “The role of social media and digital communications is vital as the Olympic Movement looks to engage with its fans and attract the new generation.
“The EOC has shown its willingness to innovate in this regard at previous editions of the European Games and the European Youth Olympic Festival, and those innovations have often come as a result of discussions with NOCs during Seminars and General Assemblies.
“I know that thanks to the work of the Azerbaijan NOC, supported by the EOC, ANOC and IOC, the participants will enjoy a productive and interesting three days of presentations and discussions that help shape our approach in the coming years.”
