EOC PRESIDENT ATTENDED EUROPEAN HANDBALL FINALS IN KRAKOW

Krakov, Poland, February 1, 2016 – The European Handball Championships took place from 15 to 31 January in Krakov, Poland. President of the European Olympic Committees Patrick Hickey attended the finals at the weekend.

He was welcomed by Jean Brihault, president of the European Handball Federation, and Andrzej Krasnicki, president of the Polish Olympic Committee and EOC Executive Committee member.
They also had the opportunity to meet Jacek Majchrowski, Mayor of Krakov.

Germany and Spain were in the finals and Germany went on to win 24 – 17. The young German team therefore qualifies for the Olympics in Rio 2016. Bronze medal game was won by Croatia against Norway.
