Rome , 29th January in view of the annual general assembly that our Association will hold in Baku for the 49 NOCs of Europe in 2014, a two people delegation from the EOC Secretariat has just paid a site visit to the Azeri capital to check on the facilities available.

Greeted by their friends from the local NOC, and in particular International Relations Director Konul Nurullayeva, Sabrina and Federico visited the NOC headquarters and met Vice President Chingiz Huseynzada, who is also an ex-office member of the EOC Executive Committee.

They also met several members of staff from the Baku 2015 European Games Organising Committee (BEGOC) who are working to ensure that this inaugural edition of the event will be a great success.

A main focus of their visit was the Baku Fairmont Hotel, which takes up the 36 floors of one of the three Flame Towers, the city’s main landmark, and which is where the delegates will be staying for the Association’s 2014 GA, where they met the Director and verified the availability of the necessary spaces and services that the Fairmont will need to provide for the 300 participants who will descend on Baku next 21st 22nd November, and who will certainly love the venue!

The Fairmont Baku will also be the official Olympic Family hotel for the inaugural edition of the European Games (12th 28th June 2015).
