EUROPEAN ATHLETES MET IN ROME

Categories: Misc.

Rome, April 16, 2015 – The EOC Athletes’ Commission met yesterday in the Italian capital, chaired by its Belgian president Jean-Michel Saive. EOC Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi welcomed the group, who later on received a visit from CONI President Giovanni Malagò.
IOC Athletes’ Commission chair Clauda Bokel also attended the meeting, a busy morning during which issues of concern to the athletes, the Baku 2015 inaugural European Games in June and Tbilisi 2015 EYOF in July were discussed.

They also discussed the European delegation’s attendance at the 7th IOC Athlete Career Programme Forum in Lima, Peru, on 26-28 May, and dedicated special attention to the EOC Athletes’ Forum, to be held in Bratislava (SVK), next 17 October, when all representatives from all European athletes’ commissions will discuss current issues.

On a sunny spring day, Italian windsurfer Alessandra SENSINI played host to her colleagues: rower Mads Kruse Andersen (DEN), Russian long jumper Tatiana Lebedeva and Polish Speed Skater Luiza Zlotkowska.

Apologies were received from other members involved in training, while German field hockey player Marion Rodewald had a very special excuse: she just had a baby girl. Congratulations from everyone!
