The European Games Krakow-Małopolska 2023 Organising Committee has launched a competition for the design of the mascot for Europe’s premier multisport event.
The initiative is open to young people aged 5-15 across the continent, with the entry deadline set as 30 September. In addition to having the opportunity to be the creative force behind a key symbol of the major sports event, there are a number of prizes up for grabs!
The winner will be invited to both the Opening and Closing Ceremony, where they can enjoy VIP treatment with their family at the Municipal Stadium in Krakow. They will also receive a personalised mascot inspired by their design, as well as a package of official European Games 2023 merchandise.
The EOC encourages National Olympic Committees and Olympic Academies across Europe to engage with schools in their country. The competition gives young people the chance to showcase their artistic and creative flair, whilst having fun and promoting sport and the Olympic values.
EOC Executive Committee member and Chair of the European Games 2023 Coordination Commission Hasan Arat said, “This is an excellent initiative by the Organising Committee and one that promotes the inclusivity of the event. We are working very hard to ensure that everyone in Europe feels part of our continent’s premier multisport event. The mascot design competition does just that by enabling young people to make a meaningful contribution to the Games. Good luck to everyone taking part!”
More information on the mascot design competition, including how to enter, can be found on the European Games Krakow-Małopolska 2023 Organising Committee’s website here.
The European Games takes place from 21 June – 2 July 2023, where the continent’s best Olympic athletes will compete in 25 sports.
