Delegations from the 50 National Olympic Committees of Europe are expected in Skopje, capital city of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, for the annual seminar of the EOC, which has been organised in cooperation with the local NOC and will open on Friday. The second EOC Executive Committee meeting of the year will also take place in Skopje on the eve of the seminar.

Located at the heart of the Balkan region, Skopje groups one quarter of the whole of the country’s 2.1 million inhabitants, and is an amazing city that, thanks to the huge governmental Skopje 2014 Project, now has numerous enormous statues and cultural buildings, as well as a charming Old City and Bazaar, the only survivors of the dreadful earthquakes that have struck the region.

The annual seminar of the Association is once again organized jointly with the IOC Olympic Solidarity Forum, and through specific workshops will address some highly topical issues for all NOCs, including: preparations for Olympic sport events, the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Györ (HUN), the Games of the Small States of Europe in San Marino, and the 2nd European Games in Minsk 2019. The second workshop will help NOCs to deal with a new crucial topic – the evolution of digital communication in sport.

The proceedings will begin in plenary session and will be introduced by EOC Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi. The approximately 200 participants will then be able to choose between the specific workshops. Saturday, conclusions and recommendations will wind up the seminar, while in the afternoon, delegates will be encouraged to participate in the City Run organised by the NOC of FYROM to help delegates and friends keep fit after one day and a half of working sessions.
