5 February 2021

Tomorrow the best winter European young athletes should all have been in Finland to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Winter European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Vuokatti 2021.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the EYOF was moved from February to December 2021, but the EOC still wants to keep the momentum high and has indeed launched the EYOF Vuokatti 2021 Virtual Week to be held during the EYOF original dates, from 6 to 13 February 2021.

Over the last months, our European Young Olympic Ambassadors (EYOA) together with the EOC Olympic Culture and Legacy Commission have regularly met online to plan a series of social media and digital activities for athletes and fans.

Inspiring athletes’ stories, online workouts, educational quizzes and podcasts are only some of the activities planned to promote the Olympic Values to our young athletes.

The goal of the EYOF Vuokatti 2021 Virtual Olympic Week is to encourage athletes to go beyond competing, to discover the power of the Olympic Movement and to bring Olympic values closer to everyone in a digital way.
