GUNILLA LINDBERG (SWE) WILL CHAIR THE EVALUATION COMMISSION FOR 2018 WINTER GAMES
Lausanne, September 13 – the IOC announced yesterday that the 11-member Evaluation Commission tasked with making a comprehensive technical appraisal of the three Candidate Cities bidding to host the 2018 Olympic Winter Games: Munich (Germany), Annecy (France) and PyeongChang (South Korea) .will be chaired by Swedish IOC Member Gunilla Lindberg
Lindberg, a member of the IOC Executive Board from 2000 to 2004 and IOC Vice-President from 2004 to 2008, is currently ANOC Secretary General and as such member ex-officio of the EOC Executive Committee.
She is vastly experienced from her time spent on Coordination Commissions for five Olympic Games and her work with the Evaluation Commission for the 2006 Turin Olympic Winter Games.
The composition of the Commission is as follows:

The 2018 Evaluation Commission will analyse the candidature files before making on-site inspections of the cities between 8 February and 5 March 2011. The Commission will issue its report for IOC members ahead of the election of the host city on 6 July 2011, during the 122nd IOC Session in Durban, South Africa.
Representatives from Munich, Annecy and PyeongChang will give presentations to all IOC members during a technical meeting scheduled for next May in Lausanne. The Evaluation Commissions report will coincide with this meeting.
