INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC ACADEMY- 2017/2018 MASTERS DEGREE: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

The International Olympic Academy and the Department of Sports Organization and Management of the Faculty of Human Movement and Quality of Life Sciences at the University of the Peloponnese will organize for the 2017-2018 Academic year a Master’s Degree Programme entitled “Olympic Studies, Olympic Education, Organization and Management of Olympic Events”.

The Master’s Degree Programme for Olympic Studies constitutes an innovation in the Olympic Movement at an international level and is supported by IOC Olympic Solidarity.

The educational programme is based on the three pillars of the Olympic Movement: Education, Sports and Culture, which are the foundation of Olympism and Olympic Pedagogy.

The philosophy of the programme is consistent with the values of the Olympic Movement for the diffusion of the Olympic ideal worldwide, the promotion of knowledge and research into Olympic issues and global participation.

The three semester Programme of the Master’s Degree will take place in Ancient Olympia, Greece, starting mid-September 2017 and will accept forty (40) participants: Bachelor degree holders from Greek and foreign Higher Educational Institutions, preferably officials of National Olympic Academies, National Olympic Committees, the International Olympic Committee and EU Committees for Education, Culture and Sport, or graduates of Centres for Olympic Studies, Schools of Sports Organization and Management, Physical Education, Journalism, Economic Faculties, and other Departments.

Students will need to cover a fee of 3000 Euro for the three semesters, whilst the rest of the cost of the programme will be covered by the IOA and sponsors.

Scholarships could be provided by Olympic Solidarity and other institutions.
All applications with all the required documents must be submitted by 30 April 2017.
