Lausanne, 17 March – the 9th World Conference on Sport and Environment will be held in Doha, Qatar from 30 April to 2 May 2011. The Conference will be organised by the IOC in collaboration with the Qatar Olympic Committee and in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

This years conference motto is “Playing for a Greener Future” and the aim is to assess the Olympic Movements environmental success stories, reflect on future challenges and explore new opportunities for mainstreaming the environment within the world of sport.

The 8th World Conference on Sport and Environment was held in Vancouver in 2009.

The deadline for registrations is 30 March 2011.
