Lausanne 3 March – the International Olympic Committee has once again offered fans all over the world the possibility of making Olympic history as the designers of the inaugural Winter YOG medals.

Following the success of the medal design competition for the Singapore 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games, fans have been invited to submit their designs for the medals that will be awarded at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria, from 13 to 22 January, 2012. Design submissions will be accepted from 1 March to 29 April 2011.

Then, from 4 May till 30 June, the public will be invited to vote online for their favourite medal designs and the ten most popular designs will then be submitted to an IOC jury, which will select the final winner.

The winner will be announced next summer and will be rewarded with a trip to the Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games as well as a replica of the gold medal featuring their design.
