Rome, 26th October last weekend the world of Italian sport gave sports fans the opportunity to meet up at the Rimini Fair, where all the latest novelties for the new sports season were on show.
Sports Days, organised by CONI at this seaside resort on the Adriatic coast in association with the Italian government’s youth agency, was officially inaugurated by Raffaele Pagnozzi, in his capacity as CONI secretary general, and Italian Paralympic Committee president Luca Pancalli, together with the mayor of Rimini Andrea Gnassi.
The ceremony took place in the presence of a number of Federation and sports association presidents, as well as London 2012 medal winners, including gold winning trap shooter Jessica Rossi, silver medallist for trap shooting Massimo Fabbrizi, and Paralympic flag bearer Oscar De Pellegrin, who took gold in the W1/W2 category archery event.
Alongside the event, the Italian National Olympic Academy (ANOI) chaired by Mauro Ceccoli brought together students from various sports faculties to discuss the theme for this 18th Session: reinforce democratic principles in the light of Olympic values. The ANOI session also selects those who will take part in the International Olympic Academy session at Olympia.
