LOGO FOR BAKU 2015 EUROPEAN GAMES UNVEILED IN ROME

Rome, 23rd November – the inaugural European Games were presented in detail to the participants at the 42nd EOC General Assembly on the second day of proceedings.
The new official Baku 2015 logo was also unveiled,and was the highlight of the the BEGOC delegation presentation, led by Azad Rahimov, the Azeri Minister for sport and Youth.
The logo symbolises the five key elements of the counntemporary and historial traditions : fire, carpets, the Simurg flying creature, waves and the grenadine.
Spyros Capralos, the chair of the EOC CoCom recalled the various stages since the green light came from the Valencia assembly in 2007, which in record time led to the Baku Games becoming a reality.
The assembly’s works came to a close on this positive note, followed by a last very special commitment for the Olympic family gathered in Rome : the audience at the Vatican with Pope Francis.
