MESSAGE FROM EOC PRESIDENT | NOVEMBER 2024

Dear Colleagues,

Dear Friends,

It has been another busy month for the EOC as our preparations for the Winter EYOF Bakuriani 2025 are moving forward at full speed.

At the end of the month, I had the pleasure of meeting the participants on the latest edition of the European Youth Olympic Ambassadors programme for Bakuriani 2025.

These Ambassadors were nominated by their respective NOCs and will play a vital role in ensuring Europe’s talented young athletes embrace the Olympic values and have the most fulfilling experience in Georgia.

The EYOA programme has proved hugely successful at previous editions of the EYOF, and we look forward to seeing this new group of Ambassadors bring their energy and passion for sport to this edition.

Some of our NOCs celebrated significant milestones this month.I was delighted to visit Dublin for Team Ireland’s Centenary Ball and then travel to Bucharest for the Romanian NOC’s marking of 110 years of Olympism.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ruth Metzler-Arnold, who has been elected as the new President of the NOC of Switzerland, to Dame Katherine Grainger for her election as President of the British Olympic Association and to Petteri Kilpinen, who was elected as President of the Finnish NOC. Congratulations also to Leri Khabelov who have been re-elected as President of Georgian NOC. The EOC looks forward to working together with you to continue spreading the Olympic values and inspiring sport!

It has been a hugely successful year so far for the Olympic Movement in Europe, and we aim to maintain this momentum as we approach the year’s conclusion!

Thank you for your continued support of the EOC’s activities.

With EurOlympic regards,

President Spyros Capralos
