MINSK SPORTS FACILITIES READY TO HOST EUROGAMES 2019

Sports facilities are ready to host the 2nd European Games in 2019. The official website of the Belarus Olympic Committee reports the feeling of Pierce O`Callaghan, EOC Senior sports consultant who visited the Belarusian capital for a three-day visit last weekend.

The Irish consultant, who closely followed in 2015 the inaugural European Games in Baku, visited the main sports sites to be used during the competition in two and half years, such the rowing channel in Zaslavl, the Minsk-Arena, the Sports Palace, etc.

” I can state with full responsibility that the Minsk sports facilities are 100% ready to host the sedonc European Games ” – said Pierce O`Callaghan, who was accompanied in his tour by NOC Vice President Maksim Ryzhenkov and NOC Secretary General Anatol Kotau.

“During the visit, I was able to visit a few hotels of high category These facilities meet all the requirements for receiving VIP-guests, who in 2019 in Minsk will be a lot like and student village where there are all conditions for living and recreation competitors..” – added O`Callaghan.

Minsk was welcomed as the organiser of the second European Games in 2019 during the 45th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), celebrated last  October in the Belarus capital city.

The inaugural Baku European Games gathered 6000 athletes from 50 countries competing in 20 sports from 12 to 28 June 2015.
