SPAIN NOC President Alejandro Blanco has received the Fondation Gresol Gaudì award for sports visibility and excellence. He received the distinction at a gala event for the celebration of the 4th edition of this prize, organised at the Reus Congress Hall in the Province of Tarragon on 3rd June, in the presence of numerous business personalities and representatives from the world culture.

SLOVAKIA Petra Kadnarova has been appointed the NOCs Head of the International Cooperation, Protocol and Development. She replaces Lubica Nemeckova, who has decided to join the 2011 Ice Hockey World Championship Organizing Committee.

ROMANIA – Next 16-17 June the 1st “Sport and EU” information seminar will be hosted by the NOC at its “Sydney 2000” Olympic Centre in Izvorani (Bucharest). The EOC EU Brussels Office will inform the participants on recent developments related to the new EU sport competence and on the opportunities offered by the new European legal context for sport and sports structures in Eastern European countries (EU members as well as non EU members). A working session on the methodology and case studies will also allow the participants to practice in smaller groups and get familiar with the implementation of a European project.
