Andrzej Kraśnicki who has led the Polish NOC since 2010, has been re-elected President for another four-year term.

The election took place at the General Assembly held last Saturday, April 22nd, at the NOC headquarters in Warsaw. Andrzej Kraśnicki – only candidate after the withdrawal of the other contender, Ryszard Czarnecki, Vice-President of the European Parliament responsible for Eastern policy and partnership – received 137 votes out of 138.

The delegates also elected 60 Members of the Polish Olympic Committee Board, including IOC Member Irena Szewińska,  and the five-member Audit Commission.

Secretary General Adam Krzesiński was also confirmed.

President Kraśnicki’s key challenges for this new term will be to prepare for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang in 2018 and the summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020. And in two years time there will also be jubilee celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Polish Olympic Committee.
