The IOC Coordination Commission led by Gunilla Lindberg is in Korea for its 8th visit to the sites for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The 13 member commission (which including 4 representatives from Europe: Ottavio Cinquanta, Frederik of Denmark, René Kasper and Gian-Franco Kasper) will perform the foreseen three-day inspection together with Organising Committee president Lee Hee-beom, and will also address issues related to transport, lodging and the final budget in particular.

With the demise of the country’s President Park Geun-hye, the local political atmosphere will no doubt impact their visit.

IOC President Thomas Bach is also joining the CoCom in PyeongChang, where a two-day IOC Executive Board meeting is on the agenda for Thursday 16 and Friday 17.
