New President Lazdiņš said: “Thank you to the federations that nominated me and to those who are ready to cooperate. There is a lot of work to be done, first of all, to take care of our coaches and athletes, at the same time – to make amendments to the statutes of the LOK, to create a sports fund and to achieve independence in the financing of sports.

“The sports industry must be able to go in the same direction together. Only together we will be able to achieve our goals. I will devote myself completely to the LOK.”

In addition, 19 members of the LOK Executive Committee were elected at the General Assembly, while the Secretary General of the Latvian Boxing Federation Genādija Glazkova was awarded the LOK Gold Badge of Honour for his work in boxing and the Olympic Movement in Latvia.
