March 2, 2017

For the fifth consecutive year, all National Olympic Committees are invited to nominate a candidate for one of the three scholarships to study the Master of Sport Administration (MSA) course at the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU, which can be rightly regarded as the key element of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games legacy.

NOCs need to submit suitable candidates, with higher education qualifications, to ANOC by the  April 14 deadline.

ANOC has successfully partnered with RIOU for five years as part of its continued commitment to providing opportunities for NOCs to learn from current best practice in the international sports movement, and will award three scholarships courtesy of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation to candidates from within the NOC family, for the academic year 2017-2018.

The Vladimir Potanin Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships from prospective sports managers and for grants from invited professors under the Olympic Scholarships Program, launched to promote modern approaches in sports education and train sports managers at the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU).

The Program includes two competitions: the Scholarships competition offering scholarships to future fellows of the English version of the Master of Sports Administration Program of RIOU, open to prospective sports managers willing to get supplementary professional education and selected for studying in the RIOU; the Grant competition, held for international experts and faculty – visiting professors for the RIOU Master of Sports Administration Program.

Currently 18 scholarship holders from 13 countries are studying under the Master of Sports Administration program. 20 fellows from 14 countries completed their education in the 2015/16 academic year.
