The second Coordination Commission (CoCom2) meeting for the European Games Minsk 2019 begins tomorrow with a comprehensive review of preparations for the 2nd edition of Europe’s premier multi-sports event, scheduled for 21-30 June in the Belarusian capital.

The Coordination Commission, led by Spyros Capralos, will hear from the Minsk European Games Organising Committee (MEGOC) on everything from the Sports Programme and Athletes’ Village to NOC Services and Logistics.

EOC President Janez Kocijančič, MEGOC CEO George Katulin and CoCom Chairman Capralos will open the meeting.

EOC Secretary General Raffaele Pagnozzi and CoCom Vice Chair Zlatko Mateša will be also present.

While today, the eve of the CoCom2 starts with a meeting between technical experts and MEGOC 2019 at the Belarus NOC Headquarters, tomorrow all the delegates will be taken on a venue tour of the 12 facilities to be used for the Games. In keeping with the European Olympic Committee (EOC)’s and MEGOC’s commitment to sustainability, 11 of the 12 venues are existing facilities – the beach soccer venue has been the only one built from scratch while the Dinamo Stadium has been recently refurbished.

Following meetings on Day 2, a press conference will be held at the headquarters of the Belarus National Olympic Committee from 11:30 a.m. local time. The delegation will then be taken to the Belarus International Badminton competition at the Falcon Club, the sixth of 22 test events scheduled ahead of the European Games.

Other topics to be discussed during the two-day meeting will be Marketing, TV Broadcasting, Communications, Ceremonies, Technology, Medical Services and Anti-doping, Transportation, Ticketing, Security and the Volunteer Programme.
