Categories: Misc.

Tbilisi, 14th June From the 3rd to the 6th of June, the EYOF CoCom was in the Georgian capital for its annual check up on preparations for the 2015 summer EYOF.
CoCom chair Jozef Liba and member Stratos Karetos, accompanied by EYOF manager Katerina Nycova, visited the construction sites at the Olympic Village and the sports venues at Tbilisi Sea, an artificial lake that dates back to the fifties and that has become a popular recreation spot.
During their stay, they had meetings with sports minister Mr. Levan Kipiani, new Georgian NOC President Leri Khabelov and the Mayor of Tbilisi, Mr. Gigi Ugulava, as well as with the members of the Organizing Committee for Tbilisi 2015.
The Tbilisi 2015 project is fully supported by the Government and the City, and the Organising Committee cooperate very closely with the Georgian NOC, in whose premises the offices of the OC are located.
The CoCom reports considerable progress in the construction of the Youth village, with the eight buildings that will host the NOC delegations rising fast; the whole project for the Village looks very promising. The reconstruction of the venues has also started and the construction of the new multifunctional hall close to the Village will start very soon.
Importantly, a large delegation from the Organising Committee will attend the Utrecht 2013 EYOF as observers, where at the end of the Festival the Mayor of Tbilisi will receive the EOC flag, the relay baton for the next EYOF organisers.
