London, 27^th July – Theyre here! After months of preparations, sweat and pain, the day has come. The Olympic Flame, after a 70 day journey and 13,000 km, will be burning in the Olympic Stadium throughout the Games. With the Opening Ceremony, the XXX Olympic Games will start and grip the attention of the whole world for the next two weeks.

The British capital will be invaded both de facto and virtually by enthusiasts from across the planet, to follow the 10,500 athletes competing on behalf of 205 nations in the 302 competitions for the 26 sports on the programme, and the other innumerable events scheduled for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

These will be fourteen exciting days for everyone the athletes and volunteers, organisers and spectators, sponsors and media. And may the best win, as athletes are opponents for the brief time of the competition but then friends for life, with their hopes, moments of joy and tears, which will, with time, become fond memories they will treasure for the rest of their lives.  

And so, let the Games start!
