The three candidate cities bidding to organise the 2013 Summer EYOF – UTRECHT (NED), GENOA (ITA) and BRNO (CZE) – and the Romanian city of BRASOV, the sole candidate for the winter edition, were all visited in March by the EOC Evaluation Commission.
Martin Rutishauser (SUI) and Josef Liba (SVK) visited the Southern Carpathians Region, while Predrag Manojlovic (SRB) and Dermot Sherlock (IRL) travelled to the famous University City in The Netherlands, then to the former Maritime Republic in the Italian Liguria Region and finally to the capital city of the Moravian Region of The Czech Republic. They visited sites and met candidate organisers.
A report on the outcome of such visits will be presented to the EOC Executive Committee in the coming months. Next May, at the EOC Seminar in Sorrento, the 2013 EYOF candidates cities will be allowed to use some exhibition space, and the final decision will be made by the EOC General Assembly late 2009.
