THE NOCS OF GREAT BRITAIN, THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND MONTENEGRO ELECT THEIR PRESIDENTS

Rome, 9th November more and more NOCs’ assemblies are proceeding with elections at the end of the quadrennial, and we would like to congratulate the leaders of the NOCs of Great Britain, the Czech Republic and Montenegro, who were recently elected to head their NOC for the next four years.

BRITISH OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION – A highly respected international sport leader who was the driving force behind the successful London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will now serve as Chairman of the British Olympic Association (BOA). The 43 members of the National Olympic Committee have yesterday voted by acclamation to elect Lord Sebastian Coe as the next Chairman of the BOA. Lord Coe, a double Olympic gold medallist, stood unopposed and will serve a four year term as BOA Chairman. Coe succeeds Lord Colin Moynihan, who announced in August this year his decision to step down from the position following seven years of leadership.
CZECH OLYMPIC COMMITTEE – Jiri Kejval has been elected President. He replaces Milan Jirasek who had been in charge for 16 years. The outgoing Vice-President for Finance and Marketing, Kejval was elected unanimously by the delegates of the General Assembly held in Prague. In his youth he was a competitive rower at international level and is also Chairman of the Czech Rowing Association. Secretary General Petr Hrubec remains in his position.
MONTENEGRO – Dusan Simonovic has been unanimously re-elected President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee for a new four year term. The Assembly of the NOC of Montenegro held its quadrennial elective meeting on the 3rd of November 2012 in Podgorica.
