WADA STRUCTURES REVISED TO BOOST STRONGER COOPERATION

Categories: Misc.

Montréal, 31st July 2014 Some of WADA’s structures have been modified to adapt to new challenges.
First of all Standards and Harmonization has a new Director, Tim Ricketts, the former Anti-Doping Manager for the IRB, who joined WADA in 2013, who has been promoted following the departure of Rune Andersen.
Andersen well known to EOC delegates attending continental meetings has left WADA after 12 years as Director, Standards and Harmonization to return to his native Norway where he now works as a Special Advisor for Anti-Doping Norway.
Meanwhile the Education and Program Development Department has enlarged its mandate to NADO/RADO Relations. Its director, Rob Koehler, who has worked for WADA since 2002 and has been WADA’s Director, for the last seven years, has had his mandate also expanded.
In the crucial period preceding the new Code implementation, the above modifications are meant to ensure WADA with a better cooperation with all partners.
“This organization of responsibilities is part of WADA’s continued efforts to assist stakeholders with their anti-doping programs and, importantly, the implementation of the revised Code,” said WADA Director General David Howman.
