Zrinka Ljutić is one of the of five finalists for the 2021 Winter Piotr Nurowski “Best European Young Athlete” Prize (PNP).
Born in 2004 in Zagreb, Croatia, Zrinka was awarded the best world’s young skier in U14 and U16 categories in Slalom and Giant Slalom.
Skiing is definitely in her DNA, as her family is completely devoted to the sport: her father is her coach and also her 2 brothers and sister all ski.
Considered Croatia’s most promising and dominant female skier after Janica Kostelić, in the 2020-2021 season she entered FIS category and has already earned 2 European Cup victories (in Slalom and Giant Slalom).
Zrinka says she is above all motivated by her family, which goes through all the beautiful but also difficult moments together with her.
“They are an additional inspiration and motivation to train harder and accept more easily all the unpleasant situations and problems I am facing,” she said.
“I believe that hard work can lead you to results and progress.”
While being an exemplar student at school, one curiosity about Zrinka is that she is also very good in wind surfing.
