The EOC Olympic Culture & Legacy Commission has been working on the Young Ambassador Program since the Erzurum Winter EYOF, when the first team was set up with the help of many European National Olympic Committees who selected their young good will representatives.

The first pilot programme included 23 participants, of which 13 Young Ambassadors then travelled with their national teams to Erzurum and had wonderful experiences while spreading Olympic Values through activities, which took place before and during the Festival.

Right after the winter EYOF came to an end, the selection procedure for the Gyor summer EYOF Young Ambassadors started, and 19 new ambassadors joined the programme.

Starting on 10 May, three meetings have been held online in order to allow the young ambassadors to talk about the aims and objectives of the programme and prepare activities for the participants to be put in place together with the organizing committee.

The Gyor Young ambassadors will meet again on 12 July. By then the group will have defined the key points of the various activities they will be able to offer in Györ.

The group is very active on social media, in particular on Facebook, where various proposals have already been posted and where athletes in Gyor will be able to find messages from their “older” colleagues.

A leaflet with useful information on the 19 EYOF ambassadors and proposed activities will be distributed in Gyor in the Fun Zone, where the ambassadors will be based during the Festival.

To help “match” athletes with ambassadors, the Gyor EYOF organising committee will provide ambassadors with special tee shirts.
